This is my classic turkey chili! This is my classic turkey chili!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

Note: if you use Salted tomatoes then DO NOT add extra salt. I made this mistake and it was not pretty.

    3/4 lb of ground turkey
1 can blacked beans- drained and rinsed
1 can pinto beans- drianed and rinsed
    1 medium onion- minced
1 dried chipotle chili- remove seeds and dice
    2-3 bay leaves
    1 cup chicken broth
    1 tbsp tomato paste
    1 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp garlic powder
1 28oz can of tomatoes (if whole, then puree before hand)

Tips

Note: if you use Salted tomatoes then DO NOT add extra salt. I made this mistake and it was not pretty.

Remove or avoid the bay leaves when serving to avoid eating them.

Directions

Add the beans, tomatoes, chili powder, garlic powder (or garlic), onion, dried chipotle chili, bay leaves, chicken broth to a large stock pot. Stir and allow to simmer on low.
Brown ground turkey. When completely brown add to stock pot with the rest of the ingredients. Turn up heat to medium until it is at a boil then lower the heat to low to simmer. Everything should be cooked and together after about 30 minutes! Cool before serving as it will be piping hot.
