Ingredients

1 pound turkey chorizo (or other spicy sausage)
1 pound lean ground turkey
1/2 cup minced onion
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 large jar ragu tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 leaves chopped basil
12 lasagna noodles
1/2 lb. Cabot 75% light cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 lb. Montarey Jack Cheese grated
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 slices sargento mozzarella cheese
Directions
Spray large sacepan with Pam.
over Medium heat, saute onion, garlic, sausage & turkey until well browned. Add tomato sauce, paste, and water, mixing well. Add salt, sugar, & spices, including fresh basil. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Cook lasagne noodles in boiling water.
spray 8 x 12 pyrex dish with pam
pour 1/2 c. of meat sauce in bottom of glass dish and spread evenly. Layer three noodles on top of meat sauce. Follow with 1/4 of the sauce followed by 1/4 of the grated cheese. Repeat until all layers complete. Top with slices of mozzarella. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Uncover, cook for an additional 15 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 minutes
