Introduction
I love pasta but with my blood pressure there was no way that I was going to waste so much of my daily quota on bottled pasta sauce. This was an easy and rich sauce. I added a tiny bit of parmesan cheese to my pasta and it was perfect. Ingredients

1 can Great Value Tomato Puree
1 can no salt diced tomatoes
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp oregano
1tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 large onion-diced
1 red bell pepper sliced
3 tsp garlic in pure olive oil
1 tsp sugar
non stick cooking spray
1 cup sliced mushrooms
Tips
I added raw meatballs to this and let it simmer and they were yummy,tender and flavorful. The absorbed the flavor of the marinara sauce.
Directions
Spray pan with non stick cooking spray. Add onions, red peppers and garlic to the pan. Cook till onions and mushrooms are soft. Add spices to pan. Cook another 5-10 minutes. Add tomato puree and diced tomatoes to the pan. Simmer for 30-60 minutes.
