2 cups cooked rice
12 oz 93% lean ground beef
1 cups Jane's sauce
1 cup , chopped onion
1 cup , chopped green pepper
4 tsp minced garlic
The recipe in the cookbook did not addground beef but my family likes it with beef.
I usually have 2 servings (1 cup) for Dinner whixh is 28 carbs or 1 serving (1/2 cup) for 14 carbs for my lunch. I use my SIL's recipe for tomato sauce but you can use your own as they are about the same in nutritional info.
1. Cook the rice according to box directions.
2. Brown the ground beef in skillet, sautee in small skillet the onions & green pepper. Add minced garlic lastly and do not over brown the garlic.
3.Add the green peppers, onions & garlic to beef mixture.
4. Stir in the tomato sauce, and rice to beef mixture and heat through.
Serving Size: makes 8 (1/2 cup) servings
