Introduction
I know there are a lot of sweet tea drinkers out there but I, for one, am striving to cut back on sugar. So I wanted to calculate a gallon of tea with only 1 cup of sugar. So I decided I would share this with all of my friends here on SparkPeople! ;-} I know there are a lot of sweet tea drinkers out there but I, for one, am striving to cut back on sugar. Ingredients

Ingredients:
8 Lipton Tea bags (the ones you use for only one cup of tea)
Water, tap, 128 fl oz
Granulated Sugar, 1 cup
Tips
For a no calorie Ice Tea you can replace the sugar with Splenda or Stevia.
Directions
Boil or Brew 64 oz. of water, then place tea bags in the water. Stir slightly and then let steep for about 5 minutes. (Longer if you like it stronger) Dunk the bags in the hot water a few times (about 3-5 times). Take bags out without squeezing them...just let them drip. When you squeeze the bags it usually leaves a bitter taste to the tea. Then add your sugar to the hot tea, stir until dissolved completely approx. 3 minutes. Fill your jug with 64 oz. of ice cold water and then just pour your tea mixture over it and stir. Yum Yum...I love my tea!
