Introduction
A delicious way to have a healthier, low carb option for Pizza Night! A delicious way to have a healthier, low carb option for Pizza Night!Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
1 Portabello Mushroom Cap, cleaned
1/4 cup Pizza Sauce
1/2 cup Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
Topping(s) of choice (Nutrition information is for 2 ozs of Mild Italian Chicken Sausage)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Tips
You can change this around to your taste, or, with smaller caps, perhaps change it around to be more of a Portabello slider with two caps filled with a beef or sausage filling. As it stands, you can adjust it to your taste, using any topping you'd dare put on a pizza.
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Lightly spritz the mushroom cap with olive oil, lightly seasoning the top of it with salt and pepper. Place directly on the rack of your 400 degree oven for about ten minutes, top-side down, allowing it to crisp.
Retrieve the mushroom cap and use it as the crust of your personal pizza. Begin with the sauce, followed by the cheese and the rest of your toppings.
Place on a cooking sheet and put under a broiler on high, watching to ensure that the toppings do not burn. Approximately 5-10 minutes.
