Introduction

A soup that is very filling and full of taste. A soup that is very filling and full of taste.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    2 tbsp butter
    1/4 cup onion (diced)
    1/4 cup green pepper (diced)
    2 tbsp dried parsley
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp thyme
    1/2 tsp ground clove
    1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
    1 tbsp minced garlic
    16 oz can diced tomatoes
    1 cup beef broth
    2 lbs pork or beef (cut into bite size pieces)

Directions

Saute' meat in frying pan sprayed with cooking spray, until fully cooked.
Simmer all other ingredients in a stewing pot 15 minutes. After meat is fully cooked add to liquid and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 1 hour making sure liquid does not cook out.
Add a little water if necessary.
Serve over rice in a bowl.
You may add a little corn bread on the side.

    LOved it !!!! I added okra for an added veggie, and a tad bit of cimino, chili powder and paprika. And it was totally divine then!!!! Actually i think i used more cayenne too. but Fantabalous non the less!!! - 1/11/12

    O.K.
    it was a little spicy for me since I am a nursing mother. We made it again with less cayenne and no clove and I liked it a lot better. - 1/29/08

    Very Good
    I used low sodium Chicken Broth instead of the beef broth and shrimp instead of pork, it was good, but could have used more spices for added flavor. - 5/11/07
