Ingredients

    3c. whole wheat flour.
    1 T salt
    1 1/2 T yeast
    1/3 c honey
    1/4 c butter
    2 1/4 c water
    3-3 1/2 c white flour
    melted butter to brush loaves -optional-

Tips

We use one loaf right away, which I keep in the refrigerator. The other goes to the freezer.
The trick is about shaping the loaves. My first time came with a bunch of holes. I advise to watch some youtube videos first, then... patience and practice!


Directions

Mix in stand mixer bowl the whole wheat flour, salt, and yeast.
In a small saucepan, melt butter, add honey and water. When it reaches 110 F, add to the mixer bowl.Add white flour 1/2 c at a time. Let the stand mixer work for about 10 minutes at low speed.
Grease bowl & let rise 1 h. Then, punch it down.
GRease 2 9x5 inch bread loaves. Divide dough in 2, hit the dough to make all bubbles dissapear, roll it, shape it, tuck sides in, and let rise again for 45 min in the pans.
Preheat oven at 350 F.
Bake 25-30 min.
Brush butter of top. Let cool down. Cut with a bread knife.

Serving Size: Makes 15-17 slides of bread per loaf. Yields 2 loaves.
