My family really likes this stew. But I had to cook it longer to get the potatoes soft enough, about 45 min. And when you add the cornstarch, make sure you mix it in a little water before adding it to the stew. - 6/3/08

We really liked this. I added marjoram, oregano and bay leaves and a bit more cornstarch. The calories by ingredient are too low as shown by ingredient. One baby red potato has about 110 calories (a serving has a bit more than 1 potato)! The baby carrots should be about 15 calories per serving. - 2/27/13

I enjoyed this recipe - and found it fairly easy. I thought it was a little bland and could have used some spices to ramp up the taste a bit. - 2/19/11

  • Yes, I will make it again! I remembered my mother adding a lg can of tomato juice to her Veg. Beef Stew, so I did that and then added enough water to cover veggies. Also I cut potatoes into bite size pieces and had no trouble with them cooking in 15 mins. Love those veggies! - 10/24/08
