Ingredients

Banana, fresh, 2 small (6" to 6-7/8" long)
    Kale, 1 cup, chopped
    Spinach, fresh, 1 cup
    Swiss Chard, 1 cup, chopped
Romaine Lettuce (salad), 1 cup, shredded
Strawberries, fresh, 7 medium (1-1/4" dia)
Carrots, raw, 1 large (7-1/4" to 8-1/2" long)
Apples, fresh, 1 cup, quartered or chopped
    Blueberries, fresh, .5 cup
    Honey, 2 tbsp
    Flaxseed, .5 cup

Directions

I use a ninja blender (any high powered blender will do) If you dont have a high powered blender try using your food processor first to blend up all of the fruit and vegies so that your smoothy is not grainy.

I start with about 10 ice cubes and a half a cup of water. Blend together to get a slushy consistancy. I then begin to add my fruit starting with my apples, banana, strawberries, blueberry's and carrot. I blend that together for about 2 minutes just to ensure everything is smooth (i dont like chunks of vegies). Once that is done I will add my chard, romaine, spinach and kale. I blend that together for another 2minutes adding water if needed. I finally add a few more pieces of ice if its not thick enough, flax seed and my honey. blend together and its done. It makes roughly 6 8oz servings. I have a full 8oz and give my children 4oz each (they love it!) and I immediatly freeze the rest. I have this every morning. Sometimes I dont add as much fruit if I need to save my calories (going out to dinner or making a big dinner that day). I was given this recipe by my Dr who believes starting your day off with the right vitamins and metabolism boosters is the best way to build up your immune system, help to strengthen muscle and loose weight. Enjoy!!
