Introduction

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 1/2 lbs fresh ground lean pork
    1 large onion, diced very fine
    3/4 cup celery, diced very fine
    1 clove garlic, minced

    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp each: allspice, ground sage, ground savory, ground black pepper
    1/8 tsp ground clove

    2 med/large potatoes, diced small (like size of cube type hasbrowns)
    1/3 cup water
    1 bay leaf, whole
    1 tbsp, flour (for thickening)

    2 ready made pie crusts (for filling and top)




Directions

Brown pork, remove from pan. Cook onion, celery, garlic in drippings (if any- if not, use tbsp of olive oil) for 5 min on low.
Meanwhile, mix the spices together for even distribution.
Add pork back into the pan, sprinkle with spices, add diced potatoes, water, and bay leaf. mix well and Cover and cook on low for approx 40 min until potatoes are cooked. Remove bay leaf. Add flour to thicken. Cool.
Brush pie crust in pie plate with and egg/water mixture. Add filling. Cover with other pie crust and brush with egg.
Bake 450 degrees for 10 min, then 350 degrees for 15 more. Let stand 10 min before serving. We like to eat ours with a squirt of ketchep on top (don't knock it til you try it!)
