Ingredients

    1 lb ground beef
    1 15 oz can tomato sauce
    1 tbsp cumin
    1 tbsp chili powder
    1 tbsp garlic powder
    1 tbsp onion powder
    1/2 tsp crushed red peppers
    2 1/2 cups crushed tortilla chips
    1 16 oz fat free refried beans
    1 cup shredded cheese

Tips

I made my own taco seasoning for less salt. For quicker cooking, you can replace the seasonings for a 1/8 cup pack of store bought taco seasoning.


Directions

Brown ground beef; drain off excess fat. add 1 1/2 cups of the tomato sauce & the seasonings. Line bottom of 12x8 baking dish with 2 cups of crushed tortilla chips. Spoon meat mixture over shells. Combine remaining tomato sauce with refried beans & spread over meat mixture.
Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Sprinkle shredded cheese & remaining tortilla chips over the top & cook for 3 more minutes. Serve with hot sauce.
