Super Simple smokey flavored shredded pork! Everyone who has tried this loves it! Use this as main dish, sandwiches, add to other dishes for extra protein. Add BBQ sauce and serve on buns. Yummy!Ingredients
-
5 lbs Pork Roast
(most cuts will work fine, with or without bone, just make sure it will fit in your crock pot)
DRY INGREDIENTS:
1 package McCormick's Grill Mates Mesquite Marinade
1 tbsp dehydrated onions
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
Tips
This is a great way to have dinner ready after work. Just prepare it the night before and store crock pot in the refrigerator. Plug it in before you leave for work.
If you're home, add cut up (or baby) carrots and potatoes 2-3 hours before the roast is done so you'll have a whole meal in one pot!
Store leftovers (still in juice) in airtight container in refrigerator. If too much, store separate servings in plastic bags in freezer to be used later. Mine easily makes about a half gallon of leftovers.
Use leftovers in creative ways. Make shredded pork burritos (with beans and cheese), add BBQ sauce to make sanwiches, add to cooked vegetables for extra protein, add to a salad instead of ham, or my favorite, just eat it plain. Yummy smokey flavor.
Directions
Cook on LOW for 12 hrs or on High for 8 hrs. Roast should be very tender and easily shred.
When done, use tongs to remove any bone and extra fat. Use tongs and a fork to shred the rest of the roast into the juices.
Serving Size: 20 half cup servings (maybe more)
