Ingredients

    Whole wheat pita pockets
    1 pound lean ground turkey/beef
    1 can fat free refried beans
    1 cup of skim milk grated mexican or pepper jack cheese
    1 tsp cumin
    1 tsp minced garlic
    1 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp red pepper flakes
    1 jar of salsa
    Optional ingredients: tomatoes, onions, cilantro, black olives, jalapenos, lettuce, sliced avocado

Tips

I add more red pepper flakes and chili powder because my family prefers spicy taco meat. The optional toppings are what you would add to a taco.


Directions

Prepare your turkey meat or ground beef adding cumin, minced garlic, chili powder and red pepper flakes. Drain. Spread refried beans on Pita, add turkey/ground beef covering most of the pita. Cover with cheese and salsa. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Add optional ingredients...
