Ingredients

    1 c. Uncooked Brown Rice
    3/4 c. dried split peas
    3/4 c. dried lentils
    2 stalks celery with leaves, diced small
    2 medium carrots, diced small
    1 ham bone or 1 c. cooked ham, diced
    1 carton organic chicken broth
    6 cups water (broth + water = 10 cups liquid)
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. Adobo seasoning salt
    2 Tbsp. parsley, dried
    Bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. Thyme

Tips

Almost everything can be substituted for a like ingredient. If you aren't gluten free you can use barley instead of rice.


Directions

Bring to a boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 90 minutes.
