Introduction
modified from Moosewood's BBQ tempeh recipe. Ingredients

1 10 oz. block of firm tofu, cubed
2 med. onions, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1/4 c olive oil
sauce-
1/4 c tomato paste
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp molasses
1/2 tsp sriracha sauce
1 c water
1 tbsp ground coriander
1.5 tsp ground cumin
salt/pepper to taste
Tips
great served over bread as open face sandwich (i use the 100 calorie whole wheat rounds, toasted). this will make your house smell GREAT!
Directions
-toss tofu cubes in 2 tbsp of the olive oil and set aside.
-heat olive oil over med high heat. add onions and peppers and sauté for 5 min. combine ingredients for sauce until well blended.
-add garlic and cook 1 min, then add tofu. deglaze pan w/ water as needed. cook 5 more min. until onions begin to caramelize.
-add sauce, stir gently, and cook 5 more min., until sauce has reduced and thickened somewhat.
-sprinkle with spices, stir briefly and remove from heat.
