    2 eggs
    1/2 c granulated sugar
    1 t vanilla
    1/4 t salt
    2-1/2 c whole milk
    12 oz italian bread, cut or torn into 1-1/2" pieces, day old
    3 bananas, sliced diagonally 3/4" thick
    1/3-1/2 cup raisins
    1/2 t cinnamon, or to taste


Good topped with chocolate sauce (we melted dark chocolate with a little bit of honey)


Preheat oven to 350. Butter a shallow 2 quart casserole and set aside. Whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt until combined. Whisk in milk. stir in bread cubes, bananas, raisins, and cinnamon. Let stand 10 minutes, tossing occasionally. Turn into prepared casserole dish. Bake 50-60 minutes, removing from oven when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
