Ingredients
-
Plantains, 1 cup slices
Ground beef, extra lean, 6 oz
*Beef Stew WF Seasoning Mix, 1 serving
*Chopped Onion (2 tbsp/1 serving), 1 serving
*Pepper, Green Bell Pepper, raw, 50 gram
*Garlic, chopped, 1 tbsp
Sesame Oil, 1 1tsp
Directions
Heat a frying pan add the oil.
Dice the raw plantain and put in aside with salty water covering it (to avoid the brown spots forming on it).
Chop the garlic, onion and red bell peppers and toss them into the hot pan. Stir for 5 minutes until cooked.
Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper and other beef seasoning. In Costa Rica we add Salsa Lizano to flavour it. Stir for 5 minutes until beef is almost cooked. Add in the potatoes with just a bit of the salty water (check your seasoning before!). Cover the pan and let it cook at low temperature for 10 to 15 minutes stirring from time to time. When fully cooked you will have your picadillo ready!. Serve with hot corn tortillas for a genuine costarrican experience!
