Ingredients

2 cups lentils, rinsed and drained
1 ¼ cups chopped green sweet pepper
1 cup shredded carrots
¾ cup chopped onion
1 cup reduced-sodium hot-style vegetable juice or vegetable juice
¼ cup no-salt added tomato paste
1 4-ounce can diced green chilies
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups water
½ cup reduced sodium catsup
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
Directions
In a 4 quart slow cooker stir together all ingredients except catsup and brown sugar. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours (or on hi heat for 4 to 5 hours).
Before servings stir in catsup and brown sugar.
Serve on buns
