Cake:
2 cups Flour, white
2 cups Granulated Sugar
1 stick Margarine
3 1/2 tbsp. Cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened
1/2 cup Shortening
1 cup Water
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Buttermilk, lowfat
1 dash Salt
1 tsp. Baking Soda
Frosting:
1/3 cup 2% Milk
1 stick Margarine
3 1/2 tbsp. Cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened
1 dash Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 box Powdered sugar, unsifted
Tips
You may add 1 cup of your favorite nut &/ or miniature marshmallows to frosting.
Directions
Combine flour & sugar in large bowl. Bring to boil in a sauce pan margarine, cocoa, shortening & water. Remove from heat, add to dry ingredient and mix well. Add eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, salt, soda and mix well. Pour into greased & floured 12x18x1 baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
Frosting...Bring to boil milk, margarine and cocoa. Then add powdered sugar, salt and vanilla. Blend until smooth. Pour hot frosting over hot cake.
