    2 tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    3/4 lb lean ground beef
    1 28 oz (796 ml) can of diced tomatoes
    1 19 oz (540 ml) can red kidney beans
    3 tbsp. chili powder
    3 tbsp. tomato paste
    1/2 tsp oregano
    1/4 tsp crushed chilies
    salt to taste

Directions

brown meat
sauté onions and peppers
add all ingredients in a slow cooker
cook on low for 2 hours
