Introduction
I really wanted Broccoli Beef, but we just don't have any steak so I decided to just make it with ground beef. Just as YUMMY! This does not include making rice because that's optional. Ingredients
-
1 bag frozen broccoli, thawed
1/4 cup raw onion
1 cup beef broth
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp flour, sifted
1 lb ground beef
2 tbsp olive oil
Tips
Simple little recipe. Of course you can add and subtract whatever you would like! I'm thinking of adding carrots next time.
Directions
1. Crumble ground beef into a skillet (that has a lid) on medium high. Crumble in big chunks and avoid stirring often so that the beef caramelizes a bit. Remove beef from skillet and remove as much fat as you can without removing any stuck on bits.
2. Next add olive oil and scrap up bits. Toss in onions and cook for a bit.
3. Add broth mixed with soy sauce and flour (and brown sugar if you'd like a sweetness) and then add broccoli. Cover with lid and allow to steam for a while. I checked and stirred until the sauce was thick!.
Serving Size: This makes 4 small servings if you're going to include another dish OR 2 large servings if not.
