Introduction

Ingredients

    Ground beef or turkey browned, drained and seasoned.
    Baked beans any variety
    1.5-2 cups shredded cheese of your choice
    1-2 boxes jiffy cornbread mix
    2 eggs
    2/3 cup of milk

This is great with cole slaw


Directions

brown beef/turkey, drain and season with salt and pepper, garlic and onion powder. You can also prepare as manwhich as an option to add flavor, but beware this adds calories.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees


place seasoned meat in the bottom of a glass casserole dish. layer baked beans on top without warming first. Sprinkle a layer of cheese on top of beans. (you can sprinkle one cup of reduced fat cheese to reduce calories.

In a seperate bowl prepare corn bread mix according to box instuctions. You can use 1 pack to lower the calories. A 2nd pack can be used for larger casseroles or a thicker corn bread crust.

Pour cornbread batter on top of cheese layer and spread with a spoon. If using 1 box, spoon corn bread mix on cheese and leave edges, cornbread will spread a little.

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until cornbread is nicely browned.
