Introduction

Why cook when you can play in the snow or cuddle up in the comforter with a good book while Mr. Crockpot slaves away in your kitchen? That's what I'm all about! Ingredients

This recipe was cobbled together from items in the cupboard during a recent snow day.

    Add to the crock pot:
    One envelope Lipton Onion Soup
One large can whole peeled tomatoes & juice & 1 can water
16 oz lean stew meat, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
    2 Tbs garlic
    1 Tbs dried oregano
Let this cook for two hours on high. Then add:
1 bag frozen mixed vegetables, 340 gm
    1 cup pearl barley
Cook 2 more hours. Add more water if it gets too thick.
You can add red pepper to this to taste. I always like a bit of heat when it's cold out.

Tips

You can also cook this on top of the stove.

Directions

Easy "guest chef" menu. Let Mr Crockpot make dinner for you. Cook 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.
