Ingredients

    2/3 cup chopped dates
    1/2 cup water
    1 egg
    1 1/4 cup quick oatmeal
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    3/4 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp sea salt

Tips

This has no added sugar. The dates make it sweet enough. Goes well with a cup of coffee.

Directions

Divide dates into 2 batches. Blend 1/2 of the dates with 1/2 cup water in blender until very smooth. Add egg and blend in. In another bowl, combine oatmeal, wheat flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Add date & water mixture and the rest of the chopped dates and add to the dry ingredients. Mix well. Spread evenly into a greased or sprayed 8x8 inch square pan. Bake at 375 degrees for about 17 minutes. When cool, cut into 10 bars. Wrap and store for a few days or freeze.
