Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    2 lb lean ground beef
    2 onions, chopped

    Spices to taste:
    4 T chili powder
    2 T cumin powder
1 t red cayenne pepper, ground

    1 large can crushed tomatoes
    1 medium can diced tomatoes
1 medium can chili beans in sauce

Tips

Those who like mild chili should cut the spices in half and consider omitting the cayenne pepper entirely. Corn flour can be added to thicken the chili if you'd rather not wait to simmer. Use a can of tomato sauce in place of crushed tomatoes if you prefer a more soup like chili.

Directions

1. Saute beef and chopped onions until beef is browned and onions are clear.
2. Add spices. Stir to coat meat and onions.
3. Add tomatoes and beans. Mix.
4. Simmer to thicken, if desired.
