Ingredients

    1 tsp. olive oil
    1 cup onion, finely chopped
    1 lb. ground beef
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 cup beef broth
    1/3 cup raisins
    1/3 cup coarsely chopped pimiento-stuffed olives
    3 T capers, drained
    1 T tomato paste
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

Tips

May be served over rice.


Directions

Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute 5 minutes or until translucent. Add the ground beef and garlic. Cook until the ground beef is browned, breaking apart as it cooks.

Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 25 minutes.

Serving Size: Makes 5 dinner-sized servings
