Introduction
This almost one pot dish I made from stuff I had in my cabinets and freezer. I had no idea what was happening on the way in, but it sure was delicious. I was craving Turkey Tetrazzini and this hit the spot. Please note, these measurements are approximate as I was just throwing stuff into a pot to see what would happen. -
Turkey (dark meat), 1 cup, chopped or diced (remove)
Turkey (light meat), 1 cup, chopped or diced (remove)
* Barilla Whole Wheat Penne Pasta, 4 serving (remove)
Peas, frozen, 2 cup (remove)
Butter, unsalted, .5 cup (remove)
*Flour, white, .5 cup (remove)
Milk, 1%, 1 cup (remove)
Chicken Broth, 1 can (10.75 oz) (remove)
Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)
Tips
In hindsight, I would have reduced the amount of rue that I used. Maybe by as much as half.
Directions
Boil water and chicken broth. If frozen add the turkey pieces. Once the turkey is thawed, pour in the pasta and cook for 7 minutes until pasta is al dente.
Meanwhile, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to make a thick rue. Once the pasta is cooked, add the peas (and turkey if it isn't in there already.) stir in the rue. Stir in the milk to the consistency desired.
Serving Size: makes 4 1.5ish cups serving
