Ingredients

    Beef, ground, 80% lean meat / 20% fat, or ground round], 32 oz
    Beans, Kidney beans dark red (1) 15 oz can
    Bush's Pinto Beans, (1) 15 oz can
    1 Med. Green Bell Pepper, 1 serving
    Tomato juice, without salt added, 32 fl oz
    Red Onion Raw - 1.5 cup
    Celery, raw, 1/2 cup, diced
    Chili powder, 4 tbsp
    Cumin (ground), 1 tsp
    Garlic powder, 1 1/2 tsp
    Salt, 1 tsp
    *Black Pepper (Ground), 1/2 tsp
    Granulated Sugar, 1/2 tsp can use sugar substitute
    Pepper, red or cayenne, 1/4 tsp
    Tomato Paste, 2 can (6 oz)
    Jalapeno's - 1 or 2 small depending on how hot you like
    Cilantro Chopped 1/4 cup
    Optional: Shredded Cheese or sour cream

Tips

You can adjust the cumin, cayenne pepper, salt and chili powder to taste.


Directions

In large skillet brown the ground beef and drain off excess fat. Put browned beef and the rest of the ingredients in a 6 qt pot or slow cooker. Cover and let the chili simmer in 6 qt pot for 2 hours stiring every 15-30 minutes.
If using a slow cooker - cook on low for 6-8 hours.
