Introduction

A 140-calorie refreshing green smoothie A 140-calorie refreshing green smoothie
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

6 cups fresh young spinach leaves
2 cups tropical frozen fruit mix (I use the Wawona brand Festival Mix with papaya, mango, pineapple, and strawberry)
    1 cup apple Juice

Directions

Makes 3 10-oz servings.

All ingredients can be purchased at Costco and the smoothie is made in a Vita-Mix.

Add 2 cups tropical frozen fruit mix to the Vita-Mix container. Then add 1 cup apple juice. Then add 6 cups spinach. You may need to pack the container to fit it all.

Secure complete 2-part lid by locking under tabs. Move black speed lever to variable.
Set speed dial to #1. Lift black lever to ON position and gradually increase speed to #8. Insert the tamper through the lid to press any ingredients into the blades, while the machine is processing. Gradually increase speed to #10. Then switch to HIGH. Allow machine to run for 30 to 60 seconds while using the tamper to press spinach into the blades until smooth consistency and a green color.

Serve immediately.

    Very Good
This had a really nice flavor and I love that there was so much spinach, but couldn't even taste it! It was a little thick for us, so I added a little water. - 3/10/11
