Introduction
This is a party sized batch which usually my husband and son want me to keep a potion of it for at home. This recipe originally came with a recipe for broiled steak and we liked it so much with the steak that I started and kept making larger portions to serve with chips. It is very good on steak.
I have no idea where the original recipe came from, it has been over 15 years since I made that broiled steak recipe.
As a chip dip, this is received with high compliments!

Number of Servings: 24
Ingredients
-
2 16 ounce jars Pace Chunky Salsa-Mild (or your favorite)
2 15.25 ounce jars black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup chopped cilantro (adjust your preference)
1 cup red onion, chopped fine
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons lime juice
Tips
I am not 100% sure the number of servings is correct, I based on adding the total number servings for the salsa.
Serve with tortilla chips (not calculated in this recipe).
Directions
Drain and rinse the black beans and put the beans and salsa in a large mixing bowl.
Chop the onions fine and add to bowl. If you do not like the cilantro stems, pull the leaves off the stems and chop fine (we like it this way), approximately 1cup total chopped. You can use the stems if you prefer. Add more, less or no cilantro - if you do not like cilantro.
Add chili powder and lime juice, trust me, this really adds flavor. Blend all ingredients and chill over night and enjoy.
A couple of hours might suffice, the flavors seem to meld together better overnight. I usually prepare the night before.
