Introduction

This is a basic Whole Wheat Cinnamon and Raisin Waffle Recipe, which I like to top with just a little olive oil or a touch of very light syrup or nothing at all. Ingredients

    1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
    1 large Egg, fresh, whole, raw
    0.5 cup (not packed) Raisins
    4 tsp Granulated Sugar
    0.25 cup Dairy, Milk - Whole
    1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
    1 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    3 tsp Baking Powder
    1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Tips

To lower the sugar just switch out the sugar for sweetner, which you can also reduce by half. You can use full water instead of adding any milk, to lower the lactose, or switch to a lactose free milk or soy milk substitute. Take out the raisins if they aren't your cup of tea and top with fresh banana for a delicious breakfast treat! It is really up to you. - I use a kRUPS Waffle Maker for mine. These taste GREAT when cold, later in the day as a snack, too!


Directions

Put all of your dry ingredients into a mixing bowl, add all of the wet ingredients. Add the raisins and you are ready to go! This will make between 6 and 8 waffles - if you add a little more water to thin it down to stretch it out then each waffle becomes less calorific per waffle! I usually have 1 or 2 as a serving making these roughtly 116 calories per waffle in a batch of 8 BEFORE toppings. I usually top with just a little olive oil or light syrup. The one pictured is a plate scapers chocolate syrup.

Serving Size: Makes 6 to 8 generous size waffles!
