Introduction

A more diet friendly version of Philly crab roll. We removed the fatty cream cheese and replaced it with some extra avocado so we wouldn't lose the creaminess. And we cut down on the amount of rice so as to keep carbs lower. White sushi rice can also be replaced with brown sushi rice or quinoa but it is difficult to keep quinoa sticky without adding sugar. Ingredients

1 serving Dried/Roasted Seaweed Sushi Nori (1 serving = 1 sheet) (by QUEENYEESH)
5 oz Sticky Rice (by TRAVELBEX)
30 gram(s) European Cucumber (by MLDEBLOIS)
30 gram(s) Immitation Crab Roll (by KENYAVARNES)
30 grams Avocados, California (Haas) sliced
10 grams Carrots, raw and shaved
    1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
2 tbsp Kikkoman Low Sodium Soy Sauce

Tips

You can purchased precooked sushi rice and use it room temperature or make your own. There are tons of YouTube videos that show rice techniques and sushi rolling techniques. the prep time for this recipe is assuming you are making your own rice. Otherwise it takes about 5 minutes.

Directions

Place the nori sheet shiny side down on your sushi mat. Lay a thin layer of rice across the center of the nori sheet and then lay another thin layer of rice approximately 1 inches below the first one. Lay your crab, avocado slices, carrot shavings and cucumber evenly across nori; one above the first layer, one on top of it, one between rice layers, and one below. Sprinkle about 3/4 of your sesame seeds across all ingredients and then use your mat to roll the roll tightly. Cut finished roll in the center first then cut two halves into 4 even pieces. Arrange on a small plate in a circle and place a small dish of soy in the center. You can also use wasabi or sliced ginger as a garish but I prefer the soy.
