Ingredients
-
2 pint as purchased, yields Blueberries, fresh
1.5 cup Granulated Sugar
1.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
6 cup Ice
Tips
If all else fails use it to flavor tea, heat in to syrup for pancakes or waffles.
Directions
put sugar and water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Puree Fruit in a blender that will also handle ice. Slowly pour sugar water mixture (simple syrup) in to the running blender. pour in to an 8 cup plastic container with a tight fitting lid and put it in the coldest part of your freezer. Every few hours stir the ice crystals until it is "Italian ice". If it slushies and doesn't freeze start with putting 6 cups of ice in the blender and shaving it down to "snow" and folding it in to your mix. and freezing again. It is not freezing because of not enough fruit - it is the water/sugar ratio!!
