A favorite backpacking meal. It is good either hot or cold and works great if you go stove-less.Pesto stays good unrefrigerated for several days under "normal" (California mountain) backpacking conditions. Ingredients

3 oz angel hair pasta, Barilla Plus
(cooked and dehydrated)
62 gram Buitoni Pesto with Basil (62 g = 1/4 c) or Kirkland Costco pesto.
Directions
Cook and dehydrate plain pasta at home. I like angel hair, but any pasta will work.

Put the dehydrated pasta in a baggie.
On the trail...
Rehydrating the pasta:
Cold: Add water to cover pasta for 3-4 hours.
Hot: Add pasta to cold water in pot. Bring water to a boil. Turn off stove and let sit for 10 mins.
Add pesto and enjoy!
Serving Size: Makes one hiker lunch or dinner
