Ingredients

    2 tbsp Coconut Oil or Olive Oil
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    5 cups Canned Tomatoes ( or use part or all chopped fresh tomatoes)
    1/2 tsp Garlic powder
    1/2 tsp Chili powder
    1/2 tsp Pepper, black
    14 tsp Salt
    1 tbsp Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce
    1 tsp Basil
    1/2 tsp Turmeric, ground (optional)
    1 14 oz. can Coconut milk, full fat

Directions

Heat oil in a 2 quart sauce pan. Add onions, stir well into the oil and cook on medium heat until translucent. Add all spices and sauté for a few minutes. Then add the tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and let simmer at least 10 minutes or longer, covered. At this point you can keep covered and turn off the heat for a few hours. Just before serving, reheat to a simmer. Then poor into a blender and blend very well - especially if you used any fresh tomatoes. Then blend in the can of coconut milk. Reheat to serving temperature if not as hot as you like it after blending.
