Introduction

Family recipe; I switched to whole wheat flour and added the bran. Family recipe; I switched to whole wheat flour and added the bran.

Ingredients

    Batter:
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup oil
    1 tsp almond extract
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup wheat bran (optional)

    Topping:
    5-6 roasted salted almonds, crushed
    1/2 tsp sugar

Directions

Beat the eggs and sugar together, then stir in the rest of the batter ingredients. Pour into 8 or 9 inch square pan (sprayed with nonstick cooking spray) and top with 1/2 tsp sugar and 5-6 crushed almonds.

Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes. Cut like brownies.
