Number of Servings: 6


    2 lb Stewing Beef, lean (slice bigger chunks so they're not too thick)
    1 large Onion, sliced
    1/3 c Soy Sauce
    2/3 cup Water
    2 Tbsp packed Brown Sugar
    2 cups Broccoli Florets-Steamed
    4 cloves minced Garlic
    1 Tbsp minced fresh Ginger
    Optional: 1-2 tsp crushed red peppers
    3 Tbsp Cornstarch
    1/4 cup Water

    2 tbsp Sesame Seeds (1 tsp/serving)
    sliced Green onions for garnish


Garnish with plain or toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
Serve with rice.
Can be cooked on stove top as well.


Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, 2/3 c water, garlic and ginger; either minced and stirred, or in a food processor.
Brown beef chunks/slices on "sauté" in instant pot, or in a pan, in batches if necessary.
Add onions and cook briefly to soften then turn heat off.
(You may need to add extra water to deglaze the pot at this time.)
Add sauce to beef and stir to coat then seal pressure cooker.
pressure cook 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, steam the broccoli as you like to. (stove or microwave)
Quick-Release and carefully open instant pot.
Turn to sauté and mix cornstarch with 1/4 c water. Add this to hot beef and mix well. Stir to thicken the sauce, may take about 3 minutes. Stir the broccoli into the mixture.
Serve over rice and sprinkle about 1 tsp sesame seeds plus some sliced green onion over top, if desired.
