Ingredients

    1.5 cup (not packed) Raisins, golden seedless
    1.5 cup (not packed) Raisins
    12 fl oz Tea, brewed
    2 large Egg, fresh, whole, raw
    1 cup Granulated Sugar
    3.5 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour
    5 tsp Baking Powder
    .5 tsp Cinnamon, ground
    .25 tsp Nutmeg, ground
    .25 tsp Allspice

Tips

Original recipe calls for Sultana raisins and Zante currants if you can find them.


Directions

1- Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2- Put raisins in a bowl and pour tea over the fruit.
3- Cover and leave overnight
4- Beat eggs and stir into fruit mixture
5- Add sugar, flour, baking powder, and spices. Mix all together.
6- Put into two 8 x 4 x 2 1/2 greased loaf pans.
7- Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 1 1/2 hours or until done.
8- Cool in pans 10 minutes and finish cooling on wire rack.
