Introduction

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 medium onion chopped
    3 cloves chopped garlic
    1 lb. very lean ground beef
    1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
    1 can diced tomatoes with sweet onion
    1 can beef broth
    1 Tbs. vinegar
    2 Tbs. paprika
    1/8 tsp. marjoram
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 small head cabbage cut in 8ths
    1/3 cup quick cooking barley (uncooked)

Directions

Brown together onion, garlic and ground beef until all pink is gone.
Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, vinegar, salt, pepper, majoram, and paprika.
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
Add cabbage and simmer 15 more minutes.
All quick cooking barley and cover and simmer 10 more minutes.
Thicken with cornstarch in cold water if necessary.
Makes 6 1 cup serbings
