Introduction

Lower calorie version of tartar sauce. Lower calorie version of tartar sauce.
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups full fat Greek yogurt (I like Fage or Chobani)
    1/4 cup regular mayonnaise
    1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh dill
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
1 scallion, white part finely chopped
2 small dill pickles (about 2 inches long), finely chopped
2 teaspoons dill pickle juice (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional - not needed if you use the pickle juice)
    1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Tips

Use any herbs you like. Some people prefer sweet pickles. I've found that low fat or nonfat yogurt causes the sauce to become watery.

Directions

Mix together all ingredients and refrigerate at least several hours to meld flavors.
