Ingredients
-
1 block of extra-firm tofu, well-drained
1 cup plain Greek yogurt, low-fat/no-fat
1 T. lemon juice
1/2 large onion, diced
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 T grated ginger
2 t. turmeric
1 t. garam masala
1 t. cayenne pepper
1 t. paprika
1/2 t. ground coriander seeds
1/2 t. cumin powder or seeds
Combine the yogurt, lemon juice, and spices for the marinade. Set aside.
Directions
After draining a container of extra-firm tofu, slice the tofu block lengthwise (still shaped like a thin deck of cards), marinate in the yogurt and spice combination for 2 hours to overnight.
Place the tofu slices under the broiler (low setting) in the toaster oven or counter-top convection oven about 4-5 minutes on both sides. Just watch it closely so that it does not burn. Otherwise, try grilling the tofu (in thicker slices). Either way...Enjoy!
Makes about 4-5 servings/slices of broiled tofu.
