Introduction

A fun bread to have with tea. Serve hot with butter and jam. A fun bread to have with tea. Serve hot with butter and jam.
Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    3/4 cup water
    3/4 cup milk
    1 tsp granulated sugar
    1 package yeast
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 cups flour

Directions

Mix water and milk and heat to lukewarm. Stir in sugar and yeast and leave in warm place for 10 minutes until fluffy. Sift together flour and salt. Make a well and stir in water mixture until batter is smooth. Cover and leave in warm place for 30 minutes until doubled.
Heat skillet med high, spray crumpet rings or any ring with an open top with non stick spray. Fill rings with a few tablespoons batter. Cook until bubbles come through top. Flip and cook until brown but still moist.

Can be rewarmed by toasting.
Makes approx 9 crumpets.
Serve with y our favorite tea.
