Introduction

This is a fantastic recipe! Everyone who tries it wants the recipe.

NOTE: I do not add salt though the recipe calls for it. I also use half the sugar the recipe asks for. Still delicious! I also add mushrooms to mine though not listed.

Ingredients

1 pound of either pork or beef (the pork comes out a little more tender than the beef though you can use either)

    1/4 cup cooking oil

    1 tsp. salt

    1/2 tsp. pepper

    3 cups of chopped celery

1 28oz. can of LA CHOY Chop Suey Vegetables (or any Chinese Vegetables), drained

    1 can Bamboo Shoots

    2 tsp. sugar

    2 cups water

    5 Tbsp. corn starch

    1/2 cup cold water

1/2 cup LA CHOY Lite Soy Sauce

    2 Tbsp. Bead Molasses

Directions

Heat the cooking oil, salt & pepper. Add the celery & meat. Cook for about 5 minutes.

Then add sugar, 2 cups of water, drained chop suey vegetables, bamboo shoots & soy sauce. Cook for 10 minutes.

On the side, blend cold water & corn starch. When well-blended mix in with meat & vegetables. Add bead molasses & cook for 20 minutes.

This chop suey is great over rice. I usually use brown rice.

    Incredible!
Loved it! I did a combo of chicken, beef and pork. Also added mushrooms, additional bean sprouts, water chestnuts and Baby Corns to the recipe ingredients. Decided to substitute Beef Broth for part of the water. Will definitely make this again! - 12/17/17
