Ingredients
-
1 med onion
1 lb lean ground beef, drained of fat
7 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup water
1 jar of Prego spaghetti Sauce, 375 ml
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp dried italian herb mix
1/2 tsp sale
1 tbsp pepper
1/2 tbsp crushed dried chili flakes
Directions
Sautee chopped onion and garlic cloves in olive oil, salt, pepper, herbs and chili flakes on medum-high heat.
Once Onions and garlic are translucent, and ground beef to pan, mincing with a spatula so that meat is crumbled into granules.
Once beef is cooked thoroughly, drain the mixture of it's fat in a colander for 5 mins or so.
In a medium saucepan, empty the jar of sauce, and add an additional 1/2 jar of water (otherwise, the sauce is just too thick).
Heat the sauce on a med-low setting, and add beef/onion/garlic mixture, simmer slowly for as long as possible - up to 45 mins, although in a pinch, the sauce can be eaten as soon as all the ingredients are heated through. Remove bay leaves.
