Introduction

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
2 cups flour, sifted
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped (optional)
Directions
Makes approximately 30 cookies (need two cookie sheets)
- Cream butter, then mix in sugar
- Add eggs to the butter and sugar mix. Beat.
- Add baking powder
- Add flour
- Optional -- add nuts and cranberries.
- Mix until batter becomes stiff.
- Split batter between two pans. Pour along centerline. Batter will spread but not spill.
- Cook for 20 minutes at 375 degrees until golden brown
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes until crust hardens.
- Use a serrated bread knife to cut into 1/2 inch strips. Rotate each strip on its sides.
- Place back in oven for 5 minutes until sides turn golden brown.
