Ingredients

    2 cups sugar
    1 cup light corn syrup (Kayro)
    1/2 cup water
    1 cup butter or margarine
    2 cups peanuts, chopped
    1tsp baking soda

Directions

Heat & stir sugar, syrup and water in a 3 quart saucepan until sugar dissolves. When syrup bioles, blend in butter. Continue cooking; stir often after mixture reaches 230 degrees on a candy thermometer. Add nuts when mixture reaches 280 degrees. Cook and stir until it reaches hard- crack stage (300 degrees). Remove from heat. Quickly stir in soda. Pour into 2 buttered cookie sheets. (I cover mine with foil before buttering). Stretch thin by lifting and pulling with forks. Coll. Break into pieces. Makes 2 1/4 pounds. 1 serving = 1 oz.
