This is a very tasty snack that can be eaten cold or hot. It is very filling, so 1 or 2 slices accompanied by a fresh salad will make a nutritious, satisfying meal. Ingredients

1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
90g small pasta shapes
90g lean, cooked ham, chopped
90g mature, low fat Cheddar cheese, grated
3 medium eggs, beaten
1 tsp dried herbs or 1 tbsp fresh herbs, chopped
salt and black pepper
Directions
Makes 6 small slices.
1. Preheat oven to Gas Mark 5/190C/fan oven 170C.
2. Grease a 20cm (8 inch) cake tin with the olive oil.
3. Cook onion in lightly salted boiling water for 4 minutes.
4. At the same time, cook the pasta separately in lightly salted water for 10 minutes until tender.
5. Drain the onions and pasta and leave to cool slightly.
6. Mix together the onion, pasta, ham, cheese, eggs, herbs, and pepper.
7. Transfer the prepared mixture to the cake tin and level the surface.
8. Bake for 30 minutes until firm and golden.
9. Allow to cool slightly before removing from the tin.
10. Enjoy!
