Introduction

Lighter version of original recipe from my grandmother Lighter version of original recipe from my grandmother
Number of Servings: 60

Ingredients

    1 cup salted butter
    6 Tbsp powdered sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    2 cups all purpose white flour
    1 cup chopped pecans
    Optional powdered sugar for dusting

Directions

Mix 6 Tbsp powdered sugar with 1 cup softened butter and vanilla in large mixing bowl til smooth. Stir in 2 cups flour and 1 cup chopped pecans until soft dough forms.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
Cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
Makes 60 small tea cakes

    I made these today and took some to a club we belong to (bar) and they loved them and no they were not drunk. These are excellent cookies which are easy to make, low calorie and just down right good............. - 1/31/10
