Ingredients

    2 Cups Dryed Split Peas
    3 Cups of Water
    1 Raw Carrot diced
    1 Stalk of Celery diced
    1 Clove of Galic minced
    1 Onion diced
    2 cups chicken Broth

Directions

Place peas in a large pan and add the water. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to medium. Add the diced carrots, diced celery and diced onion along with the chicken broth. Cook until all are tender and the peas are mushy. Place small batches in a blender and puree' then return to the pan and simmer. Add salt and pepper to taste.

    I made this using a homeade chicken stock to reduce the sodium, skipped the celery and had to use onion powder because of GERD and had a little ham in it. Was very good and filling! - 3/11/09
